What we fabricate

Metal fabrication here means steel, stainless, and aluminum, cut on the plasma table, formed on the press brake, and welded TIG or MIG on the same floor. Mild steel does most of the heavy lifting. Stainless goes where the piece gets washed down or lives near salt water, and aluminum goes where weight counts.

Exterior steel staircases are a big part of the steel work: stringers, treads, landings, and the rails that go with them, built to your drawings. Architectural metalwork for commercial and residential buildings also covers railings, handrails, kick plates, corner guards, and decorative or functional panels, in whichever of the three the job calls for, matched to the finish on the rest of the building.

Food service runs in stainless. Sinks from a single compartment to a three-compartment pot sink with drainboards, work tables with backsplash and under-shelf, counters, cabinets, wall shelving, and the fixtures that fill out an equipment schedule. Built to the dimensions on the schedule, so it fits the hole it's going into.

Kitchen exhaust hoods are built here too, in welded stainless, sized to the cook line. The duct that serves them comes out of the same shop.

Marine work arrives as boat components, railings, and fittings in stainless and aluminum. Brackets, mounts, rail sections, and the part the builder stopped making years ago.

Hospitality takes the same trade to the front of house as bar tops, servery counters, and back-bar shelving, and retail brings fixtures, displays, and counters for store fit-outs. Guards, enclosures, hoppers, and heavy-duty plant components have their own page.

Materials and finishes

Mild steel (black iron) is the default for staircases, railings, brackets, frames, and heavy-duty pieces, with galvanized where the part lives outside. Most stainless runs in 304, and marine parts and anything near salt water or harsh cleaning chemicals go to 316. Aluminum goes where weight or corrosion calls for it. Plasma cutting takes steel to 3/8 inch and stainless and aluminum to 1/4 inch, TIG and MIG welding covers all three to 3/8 inch, and square and round tubing and diamond plate are stocked.

Stainless counters and tables are typically 16 ga or 14 ga, shelving and covers lighter, and you'll hear from us if what's on the drawing is light for the span. Stainless finish is satin (brushed) or polished, with the grain running one direction across a job and welded seams ground back and refinished to match. Tell us the finish on what the piece sits beside and we'll match it.

How to order

Send the drawings, the equipment schedule, or a dimensioned sketch. For a replacement, send the measurements off the old piece and note anything you want done differently.

Tell us the material and finish if the spec calls one out, and where the piece is going: a lobby, a galley, a wash-down kitchen, a storefront, salt air. You'll get a price worked out on our own rates. Approve it and the piece is cut, formed, welded, and finished by the same crew.

Industries we build this for

Hospitality kitchens take most of the stainless: countertops, cabinets, and workstations. Real estate projects bring exterior staircases, railings, guards, and panels in steel, stainless, and aluminum. Marine yards and boat builders come next, then retail fixtures and displays.
